My Right Gone?

At the age of five I got my first firearm. It was a 410 gauge shotgun. My father gave it to me for me to shoot that day then and there, and I enjoyed it. The only thing we both liked was shooting and that was the only firearm he gave me. I will never get another one from him again. I now own three more to go with it, 12 and 20 gauges, plus a .22 long range rifle. My father before me owned six firearms, and his father before him owned firearms. My family and I every Christmas Eve go to Bass Pro buy enough rounds of ammunition for a little army. Then we go out to my uncle’s house and waste all the ammunition in the field out behind his house. It is has been a tradition for about six or seven years now and now the government wishes to end it.  I got into this issue when I found out that in the near future I may not be able to buy or maybe even own a firearm. I am fourteen years old now I have not shot any living person on purpose or an accident and I have had a firearm for nine years. So why should I lose my right to own a gun?

I personally want to know more about this issue and I now do know more. An article was released January 18, 2013 named “Right to Carry 2012” by the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action about President Obama’s new gun control proposal. Upon reading this article I came across a very interesting paragraph, a senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has proposed a new bill before congress that will ban a total of 120 firearms by name as opposed to her proposed bill in 1993 where only 19 firearms would be banned. She also told reporters “she is considering proposing that this vast array of firearms be subject to the National Firearms Act and handed over upon the owners' deaths,' or be subject to a mandatory buy-back.” (National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action) This basically means when I die my son or daughter does not get my firearms the government would or in the near future I would be “subject”, told, to return any of the listed firearms I buy from a dealer. With this new information I can further progress with the topic I have chosen. I will be sure to revisit this website due to it having all the information I need for my topic. I might say that it is biased but so is any other information you look up on the internet. With this website though they know what they are talking about though mainly because this is the whole reason for the organization NRA (National Rifle Association) is to protect our right to bear arms and inform communities, cities, states, and the country about firearms, how to use them safely and they help create leaders for tomorrow.

I would like for you to answer this question. What will come of our 2nd Amendment right due to recent mass shootings? Which will win our right to bear or our fear of arms? Do you want to know the answer? Well I hate to say it no one does. There will be an answer soon; however, the country has rough times ahead when deciding on this topic. I believe the 2nd Amendment will stay the same but our right to express it will change. I want to know how our right to express the amendment will change, whether it is for the good or for the bad. I personally believe that congress will take our right to carry a firearm in any public place form us. Which they can only do that because they hold the power over the citizens. A gun might make history and could change the world. A pen though, the weapon wielded by government, can make history or change it and can change the world forever.
